AcrossWorld Education (AcrossWorld) has created a service set that provides an innovative model and business process for knowledge management in emerging countries. Through that service set, our open source software applications, and collaborative approach, AcrossWorld is challenging the old paradigm and revolutionizing knowledge management by connecting users, building enhanced discovery and search, and providing geographically dispersed users with a means and a platform to collaborate.
Through this high impact approach, teacher and faculty development as well as student engagement are shifting to a new model. SaaS-based technology and a commitment to improving the processes that support knowledge management and resource discovery are at the core of our philosophy and methodology. AcrossWorld’s methodology creates results within the parameters of traditional education as well as knowledge and learning management efforts in other organizations.
AcrossWorld recognizes that knowledge is a change agent and catalyst; the very future of a nation, economy, or organization rests on the abilities of its people. AcrossWorld’s mission is to enable innovation, particularly in emerging markets and underserved areas, through the deployment of cost-effective, scalable tools and process support. AcrossWorld engagement teams work closely with each client to critically assess the institution’s capabilities; from that baseline, the team develops a specific plan to deploy the SaaS program and improve the associated processes of developing content, talent development, and research and discovery to fully enable the tool’s impact.
AcrossWorld experts developed their best practice methodology through years of experience in content management and education reform. On what standards is the university basing its curriculum development? What resources are available for the individual instructor to supplement his/her expertise in the classroom? How does the institution currently deliver its message/materials to the various constituents it serves? Does the organization effectively look beyond its internal and existing networks to innovate? The team will address these and other key questions to develop an achievable plan unique to each learning environment.
